Gods Reign might still be on the Austin Major's MRQ track
As we move closer to the cutoff date for the Austin Major's MRQ, the race to climb regional VRS ladders intensifies with teams like 9INE and GUN5 from Europe, likely clearing one another by a laser-thin margin of a single point (948-947). Moving to the Asian side of things, The MongolZ are all set for a Stage 3 invite, topping the Asian VRS.
Chinese, Oceanic and Asian MRQs will feature four teams each, sending one team each to the first stage of the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major. However, things get interesting as head down towards the Asian MRQ and the potential shortlist. As of now, HLTV predicts that ATOX, Chinggis Warriors, The Huns and Eruption will secure the Asian MRQ invites.
However, ATOX's spot on the list could well be up for grabs soon given the teams recent affairs. A number of high profile tournament organizers removed ATOX from their events following their ongoing ESIC investigation. The ESIC is currently investigating ATOX for match-fixing and illegal bets. ATOX were also removed from BLAST Lisbon.
If ESIC's investigation does not conclude by then and BLAST decides to drop ATOX from the shortlist for the Asian MRQ, Gods Reign are next in line for the spot and could receive an Asian MRQ invite from BLAST. With the entire narrative depending on ifs and buts at the moment, things could go either way for the Indian side.
Gods Reign were in straight contention for an Asian MRQ spot after their Skyesports Souvenir 2025 National Championship win but the Indian side lost a series of matches at the ESL Challenger League Season 49 and put up an abysmal showing at the PGL Astana Rest of Asia qualifier, which is likely to cause a big drop in their VRS placement.
