ESEA League brings QoL changes to the circuit
Through a blog post, the ESL FACEIT Group announced a healthy amount of quality of life changes to the upcoming ESEA Season 52 circuit. Making the circuit more fair and accessible, the initial phase has been restructured to pool teams with similar average ELO.
A new feature has been added where teams can propose to reschedule their games to better fit their calendars and the opponents can either accept, reject or counter their proposal with alternatives. Multiple time slots can be proposed in one go and FACEIT also marks the time slots that were previously rejected by the team in question.
With a hard reset coming in after ECL Season 49, no teams will carry over to the next tournament but have to earn their place through qualifiers to meet Valve's new requirements for running big tournaments and circuits. ECL Season 50 slots will be given to teams in the following manner:
Based on VRS
Europe: 16 slots
Asia: 8 slots
North America: 8 slots
South America: 8 slots
Oceania: 5 slots
From ESEA League
Europe: 16 slots (Advanced)
Asia: 8 slots (Open)
North America: 8 slots (Advanced)
South America: 8 slots (Open)
Oceania: 5 slots (Open)
The circuit ends with the coveted ESL Pro League, making the journey more streamlined and with these new adjustments catering to players with more on their plates, the circuit aims to function better and make it easier for teams to earn and establish their first VRS allotment.
Middle East will been added as a new region in for the ESEA League circuit starting from Season 52, eliminating issues related to servers and latency for players coming from that region. The top teams from the Middle East are placed appended to the Europe Main division where they can continue their journey towards the ESL Pro League.
