Spirit fall to MOUZ to exit EPL S21 in the semis
One of the tournament favourites, Spirit, the reigning Major champions, went down to MOUZ in the ESL Pro League Season 21 semi-final as chopper and co. seemed distant shadow of themselves to go down 1-2, ending their ESL Pro League Season 21 campaign in the semi-finals.
MOUZ's pick of Nuke got things underway as an uncharacteristic Spirit let MOUZ run away to a 8-0 lead with Spirit unable to hold up a strong defense. Spirit managed to put together three defensive rounds before a comeback from Spirit, led by sh1ro saw the Spirit hit match point first before MOUZ managed to hold on for overtime. Spirit looked like they had double overtime locked in before a 1v2 from torzsi as the MOUZ AWP boldly fake planted with four seconds to go to take a fight against sh1ro and closed the map at 16-14 to see MOUZ hold on, on their map pick.

After starting slow on Nuke, donk made sure to hit the ground running instantly on Spirit's map pick of Dust2 as a 17-kill opening T side saw Spirit take a 10-2 lead. A B-hit with a double opener from Spinx helped MOUZ pick up a much needed pistol which saw them gain some momentum, bringing it to a three-round game before Spirit hit map point. It was donk closing out Dust2, denying torzsi another 1v2, with donk ending Dust2 with 22 kills as Spirit tied up the series with a 13-7 win on their pick.
The decider on Ancient started in similar fashion to Nuke as MOUZ's defence saw them race to an 8-1 lead before late impact from sh1ro got four rounds for Spirit in the opening half. Spirit fought back to tie up the game at 9-9. A back-and-forth affair saw the teams trade rounds before back-to-back A hits saw MOUZ hit match point first and it was MOUZ sending Spirit home following a 13-10 win on Ancient to win the series 2-1.
