The MongolZ confirm quarter-final slot at IEM Melbourne 2025
The MongolZ took on MOUZ in the upper-final of group B at IEM Melbourne 2025. Both these teams had already confirmed their playoffs appearances after their upper semi-final wins but a win in the upper-final would send them straight to the semi-final.
The first map of the series was Mirage which was picked by The MongolZ. The MongolZ started with a pistol round win on the T-side but fumbled the anti-eco, denting their economy early in the half. However, MOUZ's 3-1 lead didn't go far as The MongolZ fought back and brought the half back to a 7-5 in their favor.
A ballistic Spinx fragged The MongolZ out of Mirage with a 2.56 rating T-side. The Israeli star dropped 14 frags in the second half at an ADR of 147, taking MOUZ across the line 13-9, dropping just two rounds in the second half.
The initial few rounds on Nuke looked promising for The MongolZ, winning out the pistol and anti-eco. Despite getting their bonus denied, The MongolZ secured the very next gun round but the Spinx-Jimpphat duo pulled things back, tying things up at 6-6.
torzsi's AWP sung for MOUZ, dropping 11 frags at an ADR of 105 and a HLTV rating of 2.17 on the CT-side as MOUZ closed out Nuke, dropping just a single round in the half. With this win MOUZ confirm their semi-final spot and The MongolZ will start in the quarter-final.
