00NATION breeze past BIG
The final game of Day 1 of Brazy Party 2023 saw BIG take on 00NATION team. BIG headed into the tournament with prosus standing in for faveN, who had taken leave for wedding celebrations. Coming off the back of the quarter-final run in IEM Rio 2023, BIG were the favourites against coldzera and co. The action kicked off on BIG's pick of Mirage.
The German side was the one who took the pistol and was up 4-0 in no time. The Brazilians did manage one round but BIG put another string of rounds to go 7-1 up before 00NATION managed to get consecutive rounds for the first time on the map. BIG ended the first half 9-6 and managed to win both pistols on Mirage, taking their CT side pistol as well. BIG converted the force buy and the subsequent rounds to go up 12-6 before the Brazilians registered their first round on their T side.
One round was all they needed as 00NATION managed to string together five rounds to make it a one round game. 00NATION cashed in on the momentum and managed to make the comeback work and take the opening map 16-13 with dumau ending the first map with 26 kills and a 1.48 rating.
The second map was 00NATION's pick of Inferno with BIG starting on the CT side. 00NATION took the pistol on their own map pick but it was a scrap with both teams trading rounds before the Brazilians managed to gain some momentum and finish the first half with a 10-5 lead. After converting the pistol, 00NATION went on a five round streak and made short work of BIG's defence to secure the map 16-10 and seal the series 2-1. It was the veteran coldzera and dumau who topped the charts on Inferno, finishing the map with 19 kills each and with ratings of 1.15 and 1.38 respectively.
