Polish debutant puts up mighty performance against FaZe
Coming in as the defending champions, FaZe just could not find answers to Monte's CT-side aggression as FaZe concede their T-side 9-6 to Monte in the first half of Ancient. Monte even got off to a strong start on the 2nd half but FaZe found their footing late in the match, closing out Ancient with a very close 14-16.
Down 14-10, FaZe looked well and surely done but individuals stepped up in the form of Twistzz, ropz denying hard rushes and broky locking down choke points with his AWP, combined with rain's tactically calculated aggression to gain crucial pieces of information.
karrigan's late game calling was on point, as FaZe ran through with a 6 round streak to win the match. FaZe stepped up as a team, with rain, Twistzz and ropz finishing on HLTV ratings of 1.40, 1.24 and 1.15, as FaZe go 1 up in the challengers stage.
BOROS and kRaSnaL put up a valiant effort, nearly taking Monte over the line. Their plays were mind blowing and efficient on their CT-side, taking lane control at will and completely shutting down that area of the map for FaZe. BOROS had an ADR of over 125 on the CT-side with a HLTV rating of 1.30 throughout the match and kRaSnaL ended the match with a HLTV rating of 1.15.
