R2B2 to sit out for Asia MRQ

Gods Reign to play Asia MRQ with a stand-in

Gods Reign's ex-coach returns in playing capacity

Sources close to Dust2 India have revealed that Gods Reign's former coach, PokemoN will temporarily return to the team but this time in a playing capacity. An issue that sprung up during the Asian closed qualifier of the Asia RMR leading up to the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major, continues to haunt Gods Reign.

Gods Reign are currently in China to take part in the Hero Esports ACL 2025 Closed Qualifier and they will play the MRQ from China as well. Dust2 India has learnt that PokemoN hasn't joined the squad in China yet, as the Pakistani player is trying to sort out his travel. Should he not reach China, he will play from Pakistan while the remaining four play from China.

Gods Reign's rifler, R2B2 was commissioned out of play after the player was found to have a VAC ban on his account. Reportedly, R2B2 has purchased a Steam account from Amazon in 2015 which received a ban due to phishing and getting involved with an unauthorized skins website. R2B2's VAC banned account was noticed by ESL as well but he was cleared by ESL admins after an investigation.

The situation carries forward as Gods Reign are left with no other option but to play with a stand-in. However, PokemoN coming in as a replacement could be a big silver lining for Gods Reign given his experience in the Asian and Middle Eastern Counter-Strike scene. PokemoN was brought in as Gods Reign's coach in 2023 before the inaugural edition of Skyesports Masters.

With this change, Gods Reign's roster reads as follows:

India Bhavi
India f1redup
India Ph1NNN
India Rossi
-PokemoN
