Into the Breach continue their stellar run to confirm playoffs spot

CS:GO's first ever Major champions will not be in the Champions Stage of the final CS:GO Major as Into the Breach (ITB) beat fnatic to make it to the playoffs in the Accor Arena. fnatic won the opening map of the series but were hammered in the next two as the British team was just unstoppable. ITB also became the first team with a United Kingdom core to make the playoffs of a CS:GO Major.

It was Into the Breach's pick of Inferno first with fnatic starting on the T side. fnatic took the pistol and following eco round from ITB before the British team got their first round through a solid B hold from CURC1AL with nothing put a P250. CYPHER's 1v1 against KRIMZ gave ITB their second but a FASHR double opener on the B site saw fnatic regain their two round lead. A triple B hold from Thomas on saved guns saw ITB keep a check on the score a 4-6 for the British team. mezii's crucial openers on mid gave fnatic a 10-5 lead at the half.

fnatic took the second pistol on the defensive half but ITB won the second round in the second half with a force buy and converted against fnatic's force to secure their seventh. A nicoodoz triple saw fnatic pick up their second CT round but both teams kept trading rounds as ITB managed to take the game to a two-round game at 10-12. Strong holds from KRIMZ and FASHR saw fnatic get to map point at 15-11 and a triple kill B hold against a quick B rush from ITB by mezii saw fnatic secure the opening map at 16-12. It was fnatic's British in-game leader mezii who was on top of the scoreboard at the end of the first map with 23 kills and a 1.49 rating.

fnatic's British IGL stepped up on Inferno

On fnatic's pick of Overpass, ITB kicked things off by picking up the opening pistol, starting on the CT side. Thomas, CYPHER and rallen's clean site holds saw ITB take an early 7-0 lead before a quad kill from mezii including a 1v1 against CYPHER saw fnatic get their first T round. ITB won out the half and a rallen triple kill on the B site saw ITB take a 10-1 lead. It was a stellar defensive half from the British team as they ended the first half 14-1.

fnatic took their second round following their win on the second half pistol and picked up seven in a row before ITB got their first T round to get to map point at 15-8. A CRUC1AL triple saw ITB take the series to a third map after taking Overpass 16-8. Like Inferno, it was the winning team's IGL who topped the scoreboard, with Thomas ending the second map with 21 kills.

The series decider was on Vertigo with fnatic starting on the CT side. CYPHER kicked off Vertigo with a Glock ace as ITB picked up the first round of the series decider. A Thomas triple in the first gun round saw ITB take an early 3-0 lead. fnatic got on the board with upgraded pistols in the fourth round as KRIMZ's deagle and FASHR's Five-Seven was impactful. CRUC1AL and volt's entries gave ITB a six-round lead at 7-1 before fnatic got their second round. A CRUC1AL triple ended out the first half that gave the British team an incredible 12-3 lead.

The Dutch AWP-er was the deciding factor between the teams

CRUC1AL's triple kill saw ITB secure their 13th by taking the final pistol of the series. A volt and CRUC1AL hold saw ITB secure their 15th and the British team confirmed their place in the Champions Stage after taking the map at 16-4. It was CRUC1AL who was the heaviest hitter for ITB on Vertigo with 21 kills and a 1.86 rating.
