Inferno started with a couple of great shots from Vel0city, opening up the A site for a pistol win. CycloneF's single Famas couldn't hold Enigma off, forcing his team to save. Enigma's strong start continued in the first gun round with clean rounds across the board, giving them a massive economic lead. Finally, DiceDealer put up a solid defence in the pit to give 7SEA their first round, and a quad kill from CycloneF followed that up for a second.
CycloneF's performance brought 7SEA's defence finally started performing. 7SEA matched Enigma's streak of 6, and with the DiceDealer-CycloneF duo putting up unbreakable holds on A and B, the team took the lead in the half, 9-6. A dualie double from yourwombat locked in another pistol win for Enigma. 7SEA found gaps in the mid defence in back-to-back rounds to take an 11-6 lead, avoiding CT stacks. A few rounds went back and forth, keeping the score close at 12-9. Enigma's individuals started stepping up across the board to nearly tie the game up, but 7SEA picked up an eco win on A to maintain their lead.
At 14-11, 7SEA walked into Enigma's A stack and got annihilated by the dominant Vel0city. And with the 7SEA economy broken, Enigma finally tied the game up 14-14. Nox and Roflko performed their roles as site anchors on A and B to lock in the final rounds for Enigma.
Enigma picked up their 3rd pistol round of the series to start off Nuke. Roflko was starting off strong on the CT side, picking up multi-kills after multi-kills in the early rounds. A slow spread from 7SEA in the first gun round allowed them to pick off Enigma's info pushes to take an easy win.
The two teams stayed back and forth, neither willing to concede a lead to the other. 7SEA barely stayed ahead at 8-7 as Enigma closed out the half with a win. A pistol round finally went 7SEA's way setting them up for success in the second half. Benzene was popping off as 7SEA went up 11-7 before Enigma finally got their attack going.
Roflko and HattygOD were the engines for Enigma's attack as they got within 1 round of the CTs, with 7SEA unable to stop the onslaught. And with yourwombat converting a 1v3 to a 1v1, it looked like Enigma would tie the game up but fell just short as Bhavi shot him in the back to barely hold 7SEA's lead.
After being in the backseat throughout the half, Enigma once again slithered past the 7SEA defence to secure matchpoint. This time though, 7SEA were able to tie it back up and force the match into overtime. OT stayed back and forth, and Roflko once again put Enigma on matchpoint at 18 and vel0city closed it out in the 1v1.
Enigma starts their season with a win and will face off against Reckoning on the 15th of July, while 7SEA will take on Medal on the 14th.
