Monte hang on to take down Rooster

After getting mauled by Heroic in their opening match, Rooster faced Monte in the Group B lower bracket round with both teams fighting to avoid dropping to the Last Chance Stage.

Rooster's pick of Nuke was first and Monte starting on the CT side picked up the pistol. Rooster answered back with a quick A hit through Hut with upgraded pistols that saw them get on the board early on. Rooster got three in a row before a Woro2K 1v1 against asap helped Monte get their second. Both teams kept trading in the following couple of rounds before a nettik triple with the Galil saw Rooster secure their fifth, which broke Monte's economy and helped Rooster get their seventh round without much of a hassle. Monte managed to pull back a couple of rounds towards the end of the first half as it was a slender 8-7 lead for Rooster.

nettik and asap helped Rooster turn around a 4v5 to secure the second pistol and Rooster put up a stellar defensive hold with a a chelleos quad kill on the AWP putting the Oceanic team on map point. A nettik quad kill shutting down an A execute saw Rooster pick up Nuke at 16-8 with Monte managing only one T round. It was asap and nettik on top of the scoreboard for Rooster on Nuke with 28 and 27 kills respectively.

The second map was Monte's pick of Anubis as the Oceanic team started on the T side. A B spilt saw Rooster pick up the pistol with ease. Rooster started with a 4-0 lead before both sides brought out the guns. Monte picked up the opening gun round, Monte got six in a row before Rooster with a mixed buy of upgraded pistols and AK got their fifth. Rooster stole away a round on the A site with a full eco to keep the half competitive but it was Monte who took a 8-7 lead.

Woro2K and DemQQ were the heavy-hitters for Monte on Anubis

Rooster retook in a 5v5 situation to pick up the second pistol on the B site to tie up the game but Monte responded with a force buy to convert a 3v5 as sdy and Woro2k came in with crucial multi-kills on the Galil. After holding on against the force and eco from Rooster a clean DemQQ 1v2 saw Monte pick up their 13th round. kRaSnaL's 1v1 on the B site to deny TjP a 1v3 put Monte on map point and Monte took the series to a third map after winning Anubis 16-10. The trio of Woro2k, DemQQ and kRaSnaL topped the scoreboard for Monte on Anubis with26, 25 and 24 kills respectively.

A kRaSnaL triple kicked off things for Monte on the T side of Mirage. After taking the opening two rounds, Monte went down to saved guns and pistols that saw Rooster get on the board. Rooster got 5 in a row before Monte answered with a force buy as Woro2k's intuitive lurk behind enemy lines at CT base set up the T's for a crucial round win. Monte used that crucial round win to take five in a row. A DemQQ messy 1v2 on the B site post plant, saw Monte win out the half. sdy's 1v1 against TjP saw Monte take a 9-6 lead at the end of the first half, to close out an absolute brawl of a round on the A site.

Rooster won the final pistol of the series and went on to tie up the game before Monte got their first CT round once they got their guns out. DemQQ and sdy's multi-kill holds saw Monte put up a strong defensive hold and a kRaSnaL 1v2 on the A site in a post plant situation saw Monte secure their 14th. Monte picked up the map 16-10 to take the series 2-1 as it was a strong showing from DemQQ once again.
