CS:GO's most popular maps
It comes as no surprise that Mirage finishes as the most popular map in CS:GO's 11 years of runtime. Having never been dropped from the competitive map pool, Mirage is the only map that has been played at every single CS:GO Major.
Mirage's follows a four-squared (or three-lane) structure which has worked best for high level competitive play but another reason for it's success is how well it runs on lower end PCs, making it a map for everyone.
Inferno comes really close to Mirage in terms of popularity at second place. The gap increases as we go further down to Overpass at third, followed by Nuke at fourth.
Counter-Strike classics such as Dust 2, Train, Cache, Vertigo and Cobblestone are seen in the middle of the list. These are some of the oldest Counter-Strike maps with their roots digging deep into the CS 1.6 days.
Two of the bottom four, include the recently introduced maps- Ancient and Anubis. At the very bottom, we find Tuscan, one of the most popular maps in CS 1.6 and Season, a map widely played at big CS 1.6 tournaments.
Ancient and Anubis despite being the most recent additions to the competitive pool, are rapidly evolving into strategically complex maps, making pro teams invest a lot of time in these maps.
