Rostermania: Heroic and ENCE's topsy turvy shuffle

With the Copenhagen major coming up shortly, this rostermania has been one of the craziest. Despite the vast number of moves, two orgs have been interlinked throughout the shuffle, Heroic and ENCE. With the Danish org ending up in international waters and ENCE finding themselves with a Polish roster, here's how the story unfolded.

Heroic's crumble

Once thought of as a brotherhood, Heroic surprisingly announced the benching of cadiaN on 4th October 2023.

That sparked a series of changes, announcements and roster moves in the two Danish teams. While stavn and jabbi's move to Astralis and their actions in Heroic will forever be debated, the result was that cadiaN moved to Team Liquid, stavn and jabbi went across the Astralis and Heroic were left scrambling for a new roster before the PGL Major Copenhagen roster locks. All this while the teams competed in Abu Dhabi.

ENCE bring in 4-time Major Champion

With Snappi's move to Falcons locked in, ENCE brought in the legendary gla1ve to take over the roster. Alongside him came former Golden-5 member and Virtus.Pro coach kuben. sAw's next home was still up in the air, but ENCE looked satisfied with their roster for the time being.

Soon however reports came out that ENCE's star trio of maden, NertZ and SunPayus alongside their coach was being targetted by Heroic in a move that would gut the Finnish roster.

Falcons Swoop In

Heroic announced the signing of sAw giving credence to the reports, but at the last minute Falcons, who had previously failed to lock in NiKo, swooped in and acquired maden and SunPayus to reunite the ENCE core with Snappi alongside young star BOROS and the ever-stable Magisk.

While this locked in an RMR spot for the Falcons, it meant that Heroic was once again scrambling for a roster, while ENCE was in the market days before the roster lock.

NertZ and Nicodooz join Heroic

Finally a roster move went Heroic's way as they secured NertZ as their star rifler for the upcoming season. And that was followed up with the transfer of nicoodoz from Preasy as their new AWPer. While these signings are a far cry from cadiaN and stavn, they still are the start of a core alongside anchor in sjuush.

ENCE wave the Polish Flag

With just dycha and gla1ve on their books, ENCE made the last minute decision that guarantees their RMR slot. The Finnish organization brought in the Polish core of 9INE, featuring Goofy, Kylar and returning to the ENCE jersey, hades.

While this put gla1ve in a weird situation being the only Dane on a Polish roster, for the short term it guarantees a base level for the team's future.

With that the ENCE roster is set for 2024, while Heroic still await the announcement of their final pieces. The RMR season of 2024 will be perhaps the most interesting season we've seen in ages, as teams battle it out for the first CS2 major.
