ex-TALON knock Rooster out of the Oceania MRQ
ex-TALON took on Rooster in the first lower-bracket game of the Oceania MRQ leading up to the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major. Rooster had conceded their opening game to FlyQuest and ex-TALON went down to SemperFi in their opening game. Now both teams were playing with their backs against elimination.
The first map of the series took us to Mirage where Rooster started with a pistol round win on the T-side but fumbled the anti-eco giving ex-TALON the chance to run away with a considerable lead but the latter did not capitalize as both teams traded round for round finish an even 6-6 half.
Rooster showed potential in the initial few buy rounds of the second half but ex-TALON's hazr and Forleks put up impressive T-side ratings of 1.70 and 1.66, stealing the game away from Rooster with a 13-10. Going into their own pick, Dust2, ex-TALON seemed lost on the T-side as Rooster slid a formidable 9-3 half in their favor.
ex-TALON started with pistol and anti-eco wins in the second half in an attempt to close the gap but Rooster did not let things slip out of hand, closing out Dust2 13-6 to level the series at 1-1. The decider took us to Inferno where Rooster got off to a strong 4-0 start on the T-side but were soon met with a resilient CT-defense from ex-TALON, splitting the half 6-6.
The hazr-Forleks combo once again stole the show on ex-TALON's T-side propelling ex-TALON to a 5-1 start in the second half. Rooster clawed back a couple of rounds here and there but ex-TALON comfortably closed out Inferno 13-9, sending Rooster packing from the Oceania MRQ.
ex-TALON now head to the consolidation final of the Oceania MRQ where they face SemperFi who were handed a 0-2 loss by FlyQuest in the upper-final.
