Enigma Gaming drops the ball on Mirage to tie series against Marcos
The third day's action of The Draft India Group Stages kicked off with Enigma Gaming taking on Marcos Gaming with the latter desperate to get on the points board while Enigma were looking to book their place in the top three. It was also a rematch of the recently concluded Esportz Premier Series Grand Final where Enigma took down Marcos Gaming to win the first LAN trophy of 2024 in India.
The map veto saw Enigma pick Ancient which left Mirage as the decider. Bhavi kicked off Ancient for Marcos with a 1v3 on the T side. After four consecutive rounds from Marcos, an incredible double AWP kill from an extremely quick ghostxD saw Enigma get their first round on board. Enigma got three in a row and broke Marcos' economy which was leading to the game getting tied but reV3nnnn with a double Tec-9 kill at ramp saw Marcos steal away their fifth. Enigma though eventually salvaged the half at 7-5.
Enigma picked up the second half pistol and were cruising to a comfortable win before a force buy got Marcos back in the game. Enigma Gaming eventually hung on for a 13-10 win as hattygOD and BENZENE closed it out by converting a 2v3.
Mirage started with Enigma taking an early 5-1 lead but Marcos tied it up at 6-6 and even though Enigma picked up both pistols on Mirage and converted against them, Marcos put up a strong defence to snatch away Mirage 13-10.
The tied series means Enigma now have 2 points from 3 games and Marcos scores their first point in their second game.
