Vitality, Spirit and Apeks finalise Major spots
The third day of the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2020 EU 2 RMR saw three teams book their spot for the inaugural Counter-Strike 2 Major and two teams head home.
Vitality faced ENCE in their 2-1 advancement game. Things kicked off on ENCE's pick of Vertigo with ZywOo starting hot as Vitality breezed to a 13-6 win. On their own pick of Nuke, it was total domination which saw Vitality ease to a 13-3 win and take the series 2-0. The win makes sure that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's final Major winners are heading to Copenhagen for the first Counter-Strike 2 Major.
Apeks took on Danish team ECSTATIC and the Danes started with the advantage on Inferno at 13-10 before Apeks bounced back with 13-11 wins on Ancient and Anubis. The win sees Apeks head to Denmark.
Heroic took on Spirit who were surprised by MOUZ yesterday. donk shone once again as Spirit took a 13-8 win before seeing off Heroic 13-11 on Nuke to see themselves through to the Major, after the disappointment of Paris last time around.
In the elimination games, GamerLegion knocked OG out after taking a 13-8 win on Overpass and 13-9 on Mirage to send k1to and co. home. Guild Eagles made sure dupreeh's stellar Major-streak came to an end after sending Preasy home following a 2-1 series win. The loss means, after attending all 19 CS:GO Majors, the five-time Major champion will not be at the inaugural CS2 Major.
