Invited teams for the Esports World Cup announced

7 teams get direct invite

The direct invited teams for the Esports World Cup, which will be held in July 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, have been announced. There are seven directly invited teams based on the ESL rankings. Along with these seven teams, IEM Katowice 2024 winner Spirit and the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 winner Natus Vincere (NAVI) have already booked their spot in the event.

Amongst the invited teams, we have FaZe, Vitality, G2, Virtus.pro, MOUZ, Complexity and FURIA. FaZe got the invite based on their No. 1 ranking with G2, Vitality, MOUZ and Virtus.pro being the teams from Europe. Complexity and FURIA are the two Americas region invited teams.

There are six more spots left in the event and will be decided from the NA, SA, EU, Asia, MENA and Oceania qualifiers.

The Asian open qualifier will take place on 16th and 17th April 2024 followed by the closed qualifier on 18th and 19th April 2024 which entails two invited teams alongside two qualified teams locking horns in a double elimination bracket.
