r3salt clears the air about controversial content shared online
Aurora's r3salt caused quite the controversy when the Russian player shared an image of call logs, with the player apparently being bombarded by calls from India fans during his stay at the Skyesports Championship 2024. Prominent Counter-Strike news platform focusing on the CIS -region CIS CS2 News quickly shared the same stating that the player had shared the image showing the phone calls he received for calling out Skyesports.
Shortly after, an Indian user m1mosa stated that he crosschecked all the phone numbers shared and those were not Indian fans but from Indian food delivery service Zomato. The revelation caused a stir with the Indian community asking Skyesports to take action against Aurora for deliberately trying to show the country in poor light. CIS CS2 News had also posted a video shared by the Aurora players where they were walking across a lesser developed area in Mumbai and came across a pig. Skyesports responded with a statement that they would be looking into the matter and taking necessary steps.
r3salt since then has come forward with a statement on the matter through his Telegram channel where the Russian asks news platform admins especially the CIS CS2 NEWS editor to 'not to distort the information'. He states that the content shared was never shared to hurt the people of India and it was a simple joke which was lost in translation.

Appeal to the news admins, in particular to the editor of the CIS CS2 NEWS account on the X social network.
A huge request in subsequent posts not to distort the information and to treat with FULL responsibility the translation of the content that you publish in your channel, which is aimed at the English-speaking and other foreign audiences. Neither I, nor other people, organizations had any thought to cause hate or misunderstanding because you cannot translate some things into another language. This is basically impossible. Thus, a simple joke, which cannot be interpreted differently at all, was translated head-on and presented in your resources as if it were a mockery. This is not so. In general, a huge request - be objective. If a player publishes information with sarcasm, then this must be highlighted. So far it looks like you want to catch a fierce hype and transfer reputational risks to players and organizations, which is generally wrong.
Yes, we showed the tournament's problems and that's okay. But, IMPORTANT (!!!), we didn't want to offend the staff and those around us in this hotel, city, country. They treat us warmly and we feel and see how the guys are trying to improve every day. For which we thank them very much.
And I want to wish the channel admins to be professionals in their field
The Skyesports Championship 2024 saw Aurora bow out in the semi-finals, going down to eventual champions 3DMAX. Aurora have previously won the Skyesports Grand Slam 2024 and the Skyesports Masters 2024, earlier this year and were looking to make it three trophies in a row.
