Mix Indian team makes top 8 at IEM Rio 2024 Asia Qualifier 2

Former Marcos Gaming players go down to CatEvil

While all the other Indian teams were knocked out early on at the IEM Rio 2024 Asia Qualifier 2, there was one mix Indian squad with one Russian and a Latvian, that made it to the top 8 of the open qualifiers.

Team NE, which consisted of the former controversial Marcos Gaming members of BuNTz and vel0city along with N1kace were joined by KarmaN and Wadeshot as they battled it out for a spot at the Brazilian event.

They received a bye in the opening round before going up against RISE eSports in the round 2 game which they won 13-10 on Anubis. E9esports, who knocked out Gods Reign in Round 2 were up next and NE picked up another 13-10 win, this time on Mirage.

NE took on 1stclass in the Round 4 game and went down 14-16 in overtime on Mirage but 1stclass were disqualified for using agent skins, which saw NE moved ahead.

In the quarter-final they took on CatEvil and it was a one-sided affair to say the least as the Chinese team ease to a comfortable 13-1 win on Ancient with NE being outclassed.
