Niory drops True Rippers to the lower bracket
True Rippers got their RMR Closed Qualifier journey underway against Niory, who were the other team in the Asia RMR Closed Qualifier with Indian players. While True Rippers were the favourites, the Indian team suffered a big upset which put a small dent in the RMR qualification chances.
The series kicked off on Ancient with True Rippers' T side picking up the pistol and rushing to a 3-0 lead. Following a short tech-delay, the action resumed with Niory getting on the board. A clean Rossi 1v3 on the B site put True Rippers on seven as the Indian team ended the opening half with a 7-5 lead.
True Rippers started with a near flawless pistol in the second half but Niory's force buy helped them quickly tie up the score at 8-8. A tight second half saw True Rippers threaten to take the match to overtime but DEFAULTER and his boys fell short in the final round as Niory locked in a 13-11 win.
BnTeT's Alter Ego faced DEWA United in the final upper bracket quarter-final, and Alter Ego wrapped up Anubis at 13-9 to stay alive in the upper bracket. Alter Ego will face Niory in the second upper bracket semi-final while True Rippers will fight for their tournament lives in the lower bracket against DEWA United later on today.
