Alter Ego ends Gods Reign's RMR hopes
After three days of action in the Perfect World Shanghai Major Asia RMR Closed Qualifier, it was Gods Reign taking on Alter Ego for a spot in the Asia RMR. While Gods Reign were not only looking to make it to the Asia RMR but also set the score straight with Alter Ego, who had hammered the Indian team in the upper bracket final, BnTeT was hoping to make it to his home Major.
Gods Reign's pick of Ancient saw them kick things off on the T side with the pistol win. After the initial couple of conversions, the scores were quickly tied up following Alter Ego getting on the board thanks to one saved AWP and five pistols. After a string of consecutive rounds from Alter Ego, Gods Reign managed to close out the opening half with five T rounds. Five first half rounds were all that the Indian team could manage as a flawless T side from Alter Ego saw them lock in a big 13-5 win to kick off the final.
Mirage saw Gods Reign keep Alter Ego in check with a tied opening half on their CT half but once Alter Ego switched to the CT half, Ph1NNN's massive carry job wasn't enough as Alter Ego locked in an 13-8 win to pick up a 2-0 series win.
With the win, Alter Ego becomes the sixth team in the Asia RMR, becoming the third team to move ahead from the Asia RMR qualifiers.
