DRILLAS hold on against Lynn Vision
The second upper bracket quarter-final at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Asia RMR saw ohnePixel's DRILLAS take on home team Lynn Vision and it looked like we were heading for the first overtime before the DRILLAS held on for a narrow win.
After a lengthy technical delay due to a Razer Synapse issue, the second game at the Asia RMR kicked off on Ancient, once again. A mid-spilt from DRILLAS was shut down by Lynn Vision, which saw the Chinese team take the opening pistol on their defensive side. Lynn Vision converted against the eco and picked up the first gun round before a Woro2k clutch got DRILLAS on the board on a upgraded pistol buy hit on the A-site. Following a short tech-delay, DRILLAS continued their T-side attack, quickly tying up the score.
A couple of scrappy rounds saw the rounds being traded before an A fake at the end of the half saw DRILLAS end the opening half with a two-round lead. Woro2k's knife saw DRILLAS extend their lead after taking the second pistol. Five in a row to kick off the second half saw DRILLAS hit match point before Lynn Vision finally got on the board and a couple of A-rushes saw them bring it to a one-round game, with a crucial afufu 1v2 on the B site keeping the Chinese team alive. DRILLAS eventually denied Lynn Vision a chance to push the map to overtime, holding on with a couple of MP9s and a FAMAS on the B site, to take a 13-11 win.
DRILLAS will face The MongolZ tomorrow in the upper bracket semi-final with the winner of that game moving to the Shanghai Major 2024 while Lynn Vision will face Alter Ego to keep their hopes of making their home Major alive.
