A look back at the Asia RMR: Top performers

The MongolZ, Rare Atom and FlyQuest grab Major spots

The Asia-Pacific RMR for the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major wrapped up after three days of competition, with Rare Atom, The MongolZ, and FlyQuest securing their spots at the upcoming Major. The tournament showcased both dominant performances and surprising exits, while offering a decent picture of the region's current competitive landscape.

Rare Atom emerged as the standout team of the event, completing a flawless run without dropping a single map. Their in-game leader kaze proved instrumental in their run, earning him top honors among the tournament's individual performers. The Malaysian veteran's leadership and firepower combination gave Rare Atom the push they needed to make it to the Major.

The map pool preferences painted an interesting picture, with Mirage seeing minimal action as teams largely avoided the classic map, picking it only once throughout the entire tournament. Vertigo similarly found little favor, featuring in just two matches across the event.

While some teams soared, others struggled to find their footing. GR faced a particularly challenging run, failing to secure a single map win during their campaign. Their AWPer weqt2 provided a lone bright spot for the squad, managing to maintain a positive kill-death ratio despite the team's overall difficulties.

One of the tournament's more intriguing storylines centered around DRILLAS, Ohne Pixel's Counter-Strike project. The team entered the RMR under scrutiny due to their roster composition, which included just one Asian player. After an initial victory against Lynn Vision, DRILLAS fell to The MongolZ in the upper bracket semi-finals before FlyQuest eliminated them from contention.

With that out of the way, here's a look at the top five performers from the Asia-Pacific RMR:
