Majors for 2027 and 2028 to be finalised by June per Valve's deadline

Valve has set laid out some guidelines for the upcoming Majors, setting march as the deadline to finalise the Majors for 2027 and 2028. According to HLTV, Valve sent out emails to TOs to bid on the Majors, stating that they can propose bids till March, and the decision will be made by June. Both the years will have two majors as per norm, following are the dates :

2027

• May 31 - June 20

• November 22 - December 12

2028

• May 29 - June 18

• November 20 - December 10

The TOs should keep the following points in mind while submitting their bids for the Major:

• Any regional qualifiers should be completed atleast two weeks prior to the Major

• A single TO can host more than one Major in 2027/28

• Valve will prioritise locations where TOs have held successful events. Backup venues should be in place in case of travel restrictions.

• The primary goal is to provide greatest entertainment, so TOs should be specific in listing out their services

• Novel features are not weighed heavily, and should be explained extensively

• The event should be in a convenient time zone for the majority (the game has two prime-times, one at 16:00 CET and one at 21:00 CET)

• Proposal should include expected streaming platforms, languages available, schedule, etc.
