The MongolZ's dream run ends at the hands of Vitality

A 3rd-4th place finish for Asia's best

The MongolZ made history as they made the semi-finals of ESL Pro League Season 21 but the semi-finals was all they could get to as Vitality sent bLitz and co. home following a 2-1 win to see apEX's boys move into the Grand Final, where they will take on MOUZ.

flameZ and ZywOo got Vitality's T side going on Anubis and CS:GO's final Major champions raced away to a six-round lead before switching sides. The second half pistol was all that The MongolZ could manage on their T-side as four in a row on their defensive half got Vitality home at 13-4 on their opponent's map pick.

The MongolZ started Vitality's pick of Nuke by turning around a 4v5 in the pistol and running away to a 6-0 lead before ZywOo joined the server. Vitality picked up four in a row before The MongolZ ended the half with a four round lead but ropz's double opener in the pistol saw Vitality start strong in the second half and with ZywOo's rifle work unmatched, it was Vitality tying up the score at 9-9 in no time. The MongolZ though, fought hard with Techno and 910 making sure it was The MongolZ hitting map point first. bLitz looked all set to steal a 1v3 with AWP to close the map put mezzii straight up stuck a smoke defuse in a 1v1 to push the game to overtime.

Fact box

The MongolZ's Nuke win was the first-time they had taken a map off Vitality!

The MongolZ almost dropped a 3v5 to hand Vitality match point but Techno's incredible transfer in a 1v2 on the A site saw the Mongolian team hit map point again in overtime. The MongolZ eventually held on for a 16-14 win to push the series to a decider on Inferno.

After dropping their first-ever map to The MongolZ, Vitality were in no mood to be the victim of an upset as their T side got Inferno going. Vitality's T side was unstoppable as they were converting 3v5s, hitting both sites with ease, faking sites to perfection and causing all sorts of trouble for The MongolZ's defence. It was clinical taps from ropz that saw Vitality lock in a clean pistol to get the second half going and they wasted no time in closing out the series at 13-2 to hold on for a 2-1 series win and move into the Grand Final.
