Striker raises compliance concerns over EWCF Club Partner Program

EWCF will provide up to $1m funding to select orgs

Esports World Cup announced the EWCF Club Partner Program where a total of 40 orgs will recieve a six figure funding to grow their brand. The list of 40 includes the likes of FaZe Clan, MOUZ, G2, FURIA, VItality, Spirit, Virtus.pro, HEROIC, fnatic, NAVI, Liquid, Falcons, all of which field Counter-Strike rosters.

HLTV's Editor-in-chief, Striker, later took to Twitter to discuss how this program will comply with Valve's rules. He raised concerns that the additional funding for selected teams could be seen as discriminatory treatment.

Valve has implemented several measures this year to eliminate such discrimination, including a mandate to invite teams based solely on VRS, effectively ending the partner program.
