Complexity stun Astralis

The Danes are eliminated from BLAST Premier Spring Finals

Complexity, playing with a stand-in have upset Astralis, knocking the Danish team out of BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023 after taking them down 2-1. Complexity now have made the playoffs while the Danes head home

Astralis kicked off their challenge against Complexity on Complexity's pick of Vertigo with the Danes starting on the defensive side. A dev1ce and blameF double gave Astralis the pistol and a conversion against the eco gave Astralis a 2-0 lead before Complexity bounced back with six of their own, with dev1ce coming close with two unsuccessful 1v2s. Astralis' third came off the back of a Buzz and dev1ce full house. Complexity put two together before a blameF double gave Astralis their fourth as the Danes ended the first half with a 7-8 deficit with Buzz coming in with a crucial 1v2 in the penultimate round.

dev1ce's double opener in the second half pistol saw Astralis tie up the game at 8-8. The Danes took the lead of the game after converting against the eco before Complexity tied the game up again at 9-9 by picking up the first gun round. Complexity picked up four in a row before Astralis put two together with dev1ce came in with a 1v2 on the A site, post plant to get it to a two round game. Complexity eventually closed out the game 16-14 with Grim, FaNg and JT coming in with 22, 21 and 20 kills, as Complexity put up a strong team performance.

dev1ce's 1v1 helped Astralis pick up the first pistol for the Danes, starting on the T side of their own pick of Ancient. Strong performances from blameF, gla1ve and dev1ce helped Astralis with a 7-8 deficit. Complexity picked up the second pistol and went 13-7 up before the Danes turned it around and closed the second map 16-14.

The series decider was played on Overpass with Astralis starting on the CT side. Complexity picked up the pistol and an early 5-0 lead before Astralis put up their first round. JT's 1v2 saw Complexity put up their sixth but Astralis secured their fourth on the back of nothing but pistols as gla1ve came in with a 1v1 win over floppy. Complexity ended the first half with a 9-6 lead.

floppy and Grim's double saw Complexity win the second half pistol and a clean conversion against the eco saw Complexity take a five round lead at 11-6. Astralis picked up the first gun round of the half but Complexity responded right back through Sonic's double on the B site to keep their five round lead intact. Both teams kept trading rounds but it was Complexity who closed out the map at 16-14, denying Astralis a comeback possibility.
