Vitality announces changes to roster
CS:GO's most decorated player, dupreeh has been put on the bench by recent Paris Major champions, Vitality. Vitality have announced that flameZ will be replacing the Dane in their squad, a move which was in the works for a while.
dupreeh joined Vitality in January 2022, as the former French-core team went international, signing Magisk and zonic along with dupreeh. After a turbulent start, Vitality's international super-team finally came to the fore as they won the Pro League Season 16 and then won IEM Rio 2023 before winning the final CS:GO Major in Paris. dupreeh's Major win saw him become the most decorated player in CS:GO history, as he will leave the version with five Major trophies, a feat no one else can match.
Thank you for an amazing ride, my 5th major win with Vitality was special. I don’t feel we had come to the end of the road with the current team, but I respect Vitality´s decision and wish them all the best. I still feel I am on the top of my game and will spend my holidays on exploring what the next chapter in my life should be. Obviously would love to win the 6th Major in my hometown next year, but winning a Major is not easy and I would need to find a team and an organization who share my ambition, professionalism and willingness to sacrifice to achieve the goal."
dupreeh said.
dupreeh has announced though that, he does not plan to retire and is most likely going to look for a new team before CS2 comes around.
dupreeh will be replaced by OG's young star flameZ, who will join the main roster. flameZ's contract with OG recently came to an end and he joined apEX and co. on a free transfer. flameZ joins his compatriot Spinx at Vitality.
With flameZ joining the team, Vitality's new roster will be:
-
apEX
-
ZywOo
-
Magisk
-
Spinx
-
flameZ
-
zonic (coach)
