"I told him (Gh0sTTTT) that you can peek anywhere you want and I will support you" - DEFAULTER
On Inferno, you had a commendable T side, where after a point you didn't lose a single round. It seemed like something just started clicking. What went right for you guys?
Actually, on the CT side, we played really bad because we couldn't hold the site. But on the T side, I was pretty confident because I have played against them and they don't have a good CT side. And I knew where to hit and when to hit. And so, the calls worked and so we didn't lose a single round after that.
Gh0sTTTT had an amazing performance on the first map. As an IGL, when your AWPer is playing like that, how do you invigorate him to take more duels?
I just gave him confidence. I told him that you can peek anywhere you want and I will support you with flashes and smokes and with anything you need. And he was hitting all of his shots. So I was just telling him to peek here peek there. And he did a pretty good job.
Another talking point of the match was Anti-ecos. We saw neither of the team deciding to eco on the second round. You even lost a few anti-ecos. Will that be something you will go home and prepare against?
Actually, on smaller maps, I usually go for the force on the second round. Because a map like Inferno is small so we can play around with smokes. We lost the second round, I think we played bad. There was a communication gap. Me and Mcg1LLzZz were on the B site and I told him I wanted you to peek but he didn't hear me. So I think, next time we will be more careful in playing the second rounds and try to win it.
You played really well on Ancient. How does your calling affect your individual performance?
Yes definitely. Last week I was in TEC LAN in Pune and I played really well. So that gave me a lot of confidence. And today I was playing really well as well so I think really crystal clear. So that usually works out in our favor. Because I was really trying to understand the opponent really well. And with my picks, I also let my teammates play with me.
On Ancient's CT side, you guys showcased impenetrable defense. Was it due to your communication, effective use of the utility, or was it just pure aim from you?
I think it was a combination of utility and communication. I think we played really well on the CT side of Ancient. Because we didn't give them the room or the space to work like we did on Inferno and paid the price. So we discussed that we won't give them space and use more utility and take map control. And it worked in our favor.
