Evil Geniuses eliminate Rooster from ESL Pro League Season 18
With both teams fighting to stay in ESL Pro League Season 18, Evil Geniuses (EG) took on Rooster in a battle to avoid last place finish in Group B.
The series got underway on Rooster's pick of Mirage with EG starting on the defensive side. HexT's double B hold saw EG pick up the pistol and it was clean 3-0 start from the NA team. EG started with seven in a row before an A spilt with nettik and TjP came in with crucial doubles saw Rooster get their first T round. Rooster made it five in a row as ADK and chelleos openers saw them reduce EG's lead. Back-to-back impactful multi-kills from mid from autimatic saw EG win out the half and it was a 10-5 lead for the NA team at the end of the half.
EG took the second pistol as well to win both pistols on Mirage and they were 14-5 up before Rooster could put together a full buy. A nettik quad on an A hold saw Rooster get their first CT round. autimatic sold a B fake with a double entry that helped EG secure map point and it was 16-6 win for the NA team to start the series.
EG kicked off their map pick of Nuke with picking up the pistol on the T side but Rooster answered back with a force and a chelleos ace saw Rooster go 3-1 up. EG bounced back to tie the game. Rooster answered back with five in a row to win out the half. It was a 10-5 half for Rooster with chelleos coming in with a 19 kills in the opening half.
A Jeorge triple saw EG pick up the pistol and a Walco ace made sure EG converted clean and it was walco again with a 1v1 clutch against asap to see EG get it to 9-10. EG made it six in a row to take the lead of map at 11-10. EG were flawless and closed out the map, converting a 3v4 to pick the map 16-10 to secure the series 2-0 and sent Rooster home. It was HexT on top of the scoreboard with 26 kills and an ADR of 109 on Nuke.
