Cloud9 end Movistar's Fall Final dreams

Slow starting C9 secure a comfortable 2-0

While they were the most talked about team following the player break, thanks to their new roster, Cloud9 (C9) had an underwhelming start with their new roster.

While the results didn't go their way, electroNic and co. were hoping to keep their hopes alive to play in Copenhagen at the Fall Final and got their BLAST Fall Showdown campaign underway against Movistar Riders in the quarter-final.

The opening map was Movistar's pick of Ancient with C9 starting on the CT side. It was a neck-and-neck first half as neither team was ready to concede, with C9 take a one round lead at 8-7. While Movistar took the pistol in the second half to tie the game, Cloud9 bounced back with a strong T side to close the map at 16-11.

Movistar started C9's pick of Inferno with a pistol round win on the CT side but it was all C9 after that as they took a strong 11-4 lead at the half. With sh1ro and electroNic leading from the front, Cloud9 secured the series at 2-0 as they won Inferno 16-9.

With their win over Movistar, Cloud9 are now in the semifinals and await the winner of the G2 and OG2 match.
