Vitality crash out of IEM Sydney 2023
Spinx found form right away on the CT-side of Overpass, giving Vitality a 4-1 start. FaZe could only secure 3 rounds on their T-side, as Vitality took a 9-3 half in their favor. The trio of broky, ropz and rain changed the narrative for FaZe on their CT-side, mounting a valiant comeback to tie things up at 12-12.
Vitality secured a lead on their T-side in overtime, putting FaZe under pressure. FaZe managed to secure a single round on either sides, conceding Overpass 16-14 in overtime.
Vitality got off to a 3-0 start on the T-side of Inferno but FaZe quickly caught and traded rounds back and forth. FaZe gained a little momentum towards the end of the half to go up 7-5.
After FaZe's initial success in the second half, Vitality strung up 4 in a row, levelling the score at 9-9 but FaZe's T-side toppled the CT-defense, closing out Inferno 13-10 and levelling the series at 1-1.
Vitality got off to a massive 8-1 start on the CT-side of Nuke but FaZe strung up 3 in a row towards to end of the first to half to keep it competitive at 4-8. Switching sides, FaZe do the unthinkable, coming back from 1-8 to reach match point without dropping a single round in the second half at 12-8.
Vitality could secure just a single round on their T-side, as FaZe closed out Nuke 13-9 to eliminate Vitality from IEM Sydney 2023 in the lower bracket, on the very first day.
