DEFAULTER: “We are better than others if given the same platform"

After defeating Revenant Esports in the opening match of DreamHack Hyderabad 2023, we sat down with the IGL of Marcos Gaming, DEFAULTER, who shared some insights about the game.

You made it clear from the start that you are going to be aggressive. Was that your game plan heading into the map?

We have been working on this map for the last one week. In the past few tournaments we saw that Ancient didn't go in our favor. So we worked both on the CT and the T side. And for our mentality we decided to go aggressive in the first 5 rounds to check if they are hitting their shots or not. But then we got momentum and kept on pushing. We were confident and they couldn't not stop us.

Are we going to see some changes in the Veto?

No the veto is the same. It is again Ancient. We left Ancient and Overpass and they took Ancient again. We are confident we will beat them again, you cannot change a lot in 5 minutes.

Considering you are a fresh roster, have you set any expectations from this tournament?

We are looking to win this tournament. We have been grinding a lot past one week. We want to win because past one month we have not been up to the mark. It is quite difficult to play from home and with CS2 it is quite difficult with high ping. We are here to prove a point that we are better than others if given the same platform.
