Rare Atom qualifies for PGL Astana 2025 Asia Closed Qualifier
The controversial PGL Astana 2025 China Closed Qualifier came to an end as Rare Atom ended up making it through to the Asia Closed Qualifier, after beating DogEvil in the Grand Final. Lynn Vision brought plenty of spotlight to the qualifier, following their public displeasure of the Valve's VRS system and how regional TOs are using it to benefit their local teams. Lynn Vision ended up forfeiting their final couple of games to make sure their compatriots, Rare Atom keeps the Major slot.
Up until the final, it was a clean run from Rare Atom though, as kicked things off with a big win against Steel Helmet, overcame an overtime affair to beat NinJa and then was handed a walkover as Lynn Vision forfeited their upper bracket final game. Lynn Vision ended up forfeiting their Consolidation Final game too, which put DogEvil into the final.
DogEvil's pick of Anubis got things going as an overtime win saw Rare Atom take their opponents' pick at 16-13. DogEvil answered back immediately with a six round lead on their CT half on Mirage, which saw them fend off a late comeback attempt to lock in a 13-10 win to tie up the series. The decider on Inferno though, was all Rare Atom as they raced away to a big CT side lead which saw them ease to a 13-4 win to seal the series 2-1.
Rare Atom becomes the second team after JiJieHao to make their way to the Asia Closed Qualifier of PGL Astana 2025 and the final two spots in the Asia Closed Qualifier will come from the Oceania and Rest of Asia Closed Qualifiers.
