Media: Evil Geniuses to shut down CS division

Renown esports journalist Richard Lewis has reported that EG are looking to close their Counter-Strike division. The report also says that EG had downsized earlier this month.

The decision is speculated to have come after EG's disappointing Counter-Strike runs in recent times. A supposed financial restructuring also sees their DOTA lineup depart. EG made power moves, bringing in Stewie2k, autimatic and RUSH in 2022 but the team didn't take off.

Despite the recent results, EG was one of the teams to watch out for in their early days, going on to win ESL One New York 2019 and StarSeries i-League Season 8.

There have always been claims surfacing about poor working conditions at EG and several cases of mismanagement. Even potential signings were thinking twice when approached by EG. More updates on EG's Counter-Strike division will follow as and when they are made public, stay tuned.
