ESIC backtracks joel verdict
In August, ESIC handed joel a provisional suspension in order to investigate allegations of unethical betting practices following an incident where joel had placed bets on two of his own matches while he was playing for GODSENT.
At the time of suspending joel, using strong language ESIC stated the charge to be "serious breaches of the ESIC Anti-Corruption Code" and ESIC made it clear that joel was not able to prove his innocence in the matter.
Earlier today, ESIC came up with a verdict stating that joel's suspension would end in January 2024, making him eligible to participate in the next Major cycle after serving an "effective 7-month ban" from ESIC member events.
" I am currently seeking professional counseling and treatment for my gambling issues. This journey towards recovery is not just about complying with the sanctions but is a personal commitment to better myself and rebuild the trust I have lost."

joel's suspension will be lifted two days prior to the commencement of PGL 2024 Major's open qualifiers, giving him a good chance to find a team before the event.
