Gods Reign suffer narrow loss

After getting a bye in their campaign opener, Gods Reign's ESEA Season 47: Open Asia Playoffs second round game got underway against komsomolsk with the BO3 kicking off on komsomolsk's pick of Vertigo.

komsomolsk 13 - 5 Gods Reign (Vertigo)

The Indian team started with an early 3-1 lead but it was komsomolsk ending the opening half of Vertigo with an 8-4 advantage. Gods Reign secure the second pistol to kick off the second half but it was komsomolsk cleaning up the Indian squad 13-6 to go 1-0 in the series.

Gods Reign 13 - 10 komsomolsk (Ancient)

komsomolsk took the opening pistol on Gods Reign's pick of Ancient to get things started and the Russian team started with a 4-0 lead before Gods got four of their own to tie up the score at 4-4. Gods Reign turned it around to take a 7-5 lead and then hung on to secure their own pick of Ancient at 13-10 with Ph1NNN, who was right at the bottom of the scoreboard on map 1 with single digit kills, stepping up and with f1redup supporting, Gods Reign took the BO3 to its decider.

komsomolsk 13 - 11 Gods Reign (Mirage)

Mirage was the series decider as Gods Reign started with the opening pistol. It was an early 4-0 lead before the Russian side got going. It was a close opening half at 7-5 in Gods Reign favour but komsomolsk made sure there was no scope for Gods Reign to take the game as they hung on to close out the map at 13-11 and take the series 2-1.

Gods Reign now drop to the Lower Bracket and their LB run gets underway tomorrow (08/12/23) against Guardian 5 at 6PM IST.
