Gen.G unveils Counter-Strike return
Gen.G took to Weibo, the Chinese social media platform to announce their return to Counter-Strike. The Korean-American based organizations is reportedly looking to build a Chinese/Asian team.
Gen.G's arrival to the Counter-Strike scene was marked by the signing of Cloud9's 2019 roster's core. Despite getting off to a successful start, the venture never really took off, plagued by the pandemic and numerous other issues.
Gen.G's interest in the Chinese region is not new and dates all the way back to 2019, when the organization open their office in Shangai and invested into a local NBA 2k franchise. Gen.G stepped away from Counter-Strike 3 years ago in November 2020.
Gen.G also plan on including CS2 in GGA (GG Academy), their eSports education programme.
