India defeats Pakistan in World Finals Showmatch
In a preview of next year's The Draft tournament that will feature some of the top Indian and Pakistani teams playign alongside Legends of the CS scene, BLAST Premier World Finals 2023 set two of the best teams from both countries up against each other in the Showmatch: Draft Edition.
Keeping in mind the incredible antics of the BLAST.TV showmatches, the match started with a full buy, and right off the bat we got a teamkill from DEFAULTER onto Rossi as Pakistan took the opening round on Anubis. But that was immediately followed by a round with Infinite Nades. The barrage of HEs and Molotovs peppered the T side down, giving Pakistan the advantage as they went 2-0 up despite Jimpphat blowing himself up.
A clean A attack saw India take down Jimpphat, allowing Team India to take their first round despite the opening death. Just when India was getting their chance to equalize, the BLAST.tv fans chose the blind round with monitors turned off. But TeSes managed to get the bomb planted without a single point of damage taken on either side, allowing them to take the win as the Dane knifed Jimpphat to deny the defuse.
Known for his clutch, Perfecto found himself at the front of the attack with a triple entry to get India their 3rd. "Upside-down" followed in round 6, flipping the mouse control vertically. Still with the clutch maestro in the 1v2, Perfecto managed to drag the round across the finish with his P90.
Insmutjee got a brilliant spraydown on the A defence to take down 3, but Perfecto once again popped off with the awp to bring it down to a 1v1 with 4 kills in the half. Still Jimpphat managed to close it out in the 1v1.
Double kills from both Jimpphat and Insmutjee tied the game up and fans on BLAST.tv, decided to Smoke up Team India's booth in round 9, limiting their vision IRL. Despite this, Perfecto's AWP was looking on point as he got another double, finally forcing SunPayus to pick up the big green himself in round 10, as the WahWah riflers tied the game up once again.
Anubis was shifted up to the Moon as the game gravity was lowered. Rossi showed off his sneak abilities as he floated in the air for an eternity to take one kill with his XM1014. TeSeS and Executor both got stuck inside the map, but the Dane barely managed to take the final kill in time.
A SunPayus no scope was the highlight of the second half opener, but Team India continued to keep their lead on the CT side. TeSeS showed off his incredible spray through a smoke, before the game went into hyperspeed, as Pakistan's P90s ran down to a bomb plant, but Rossi managed to take the lightning fast defuse.
The young Finnish star, Jimpphat finally gave the Pakistani side some hope as he brought in the 7th round. India however kept up their defence getting into the double digits as Pakistan got smoked in and out of the server.
Gh0sTT really played to his namesake as he silently flanked team Pakistan and wiped the slate to lock in match point with a triple. Slowing the game right down, the slow-mo round allowed Bullet to show his crispy aim to keep his team alive. A triple AWP setup in round 21 came out from Team India finally closing the game out as Perfecto knifed SunPayus to close the map out 13-9.
With that incredibly thrilling match of Counter-Strike, the stage is set for the clash of titans at BLAST's The Draft next year. The event will be announcing open qualifiers for both countries shortly and will feature the top 3 teams from each country battling it out alongside legends of the CS scene. Will the Indian teams repeat their success at the event?
