All Indian teams knocked out on the opening day of ESL Challenger #56 - Asia Qualifier

Multiple Indian teams were in action

The Asian Open Qualifier for ESL Challenger #56 got underway with six Indian teams taking part as they were hoping to go all the way to ESL Pro League S20.

While most of the prominent names were missing, we still saw Grayfox Esports, 2ez Gaming and Revenge esports amongst others in action. Grayfox Esports had SH4DY standing in for rite2ace. While SH4DY was standing in for Grayfox, L.O.T Gaming had Benzene in the server for them after he had recently parted ways with Enigma Gaming.

Round 1

  • L.O.T Gaming vs anno n friend (LOT gets bye)

  • 2ez Gaming 13 - 2 medku (Ancient)

  • Old School 13 - 6 Full tilt (Ancient)

  • iYATi 13 - 6 Team Yolo (Anubis)

  • Grayfox got a bye in their opening round

  • Revenge Esports 5 - 13 SHIVERNII TOS (Ancient)

Round 2

  • L.O.T Gaming 13 - 6 TokyoSavage

L.O.T Gaming ran through TokyoSavage on Overpass in the second round game. While it was a close first half at 7-5 in favour of the Indian team, L.O.T dropped just a single round in the second half to romp to a 13-6 win.

  • 2ez Gaming 7 - 13 MiraiGaming

2ez Gaming suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of MiraiGaming on Inferno in their second round game, going down 7-13 to end their campaign. Geneka had a stellar match, ending with an incredible 30 kills across 20 maps.

  • Old School 0 - 13 -72c

Old School went up against Russian team -72c in their Round 2 BO1 game and it was an absolute bloodbath on Mirage as -72c smashed them 13-0 with m3wsu and former Revenant player shandarez topping the scoreboard with 19 and 14 kills respectively. None of the Indian team's players could get to double digits.

  • iYATi 4 - 13 The Huns

iYATi faced Mongolian squad The Huns and after starting with the pistol and converting the eco on Inferno, The Huns ran away with the map, securing a relatively easy 13-4 win to knock out the Indian team.

  • Grayfox 13 - 8 Jadeite

Grayfox Esports, with SH4DY standing in for rite2ace faced Japan's Jadeite and Grayfox started with a 9-3 lead to get things going on Anubis before closing out the map at 13-7. arakyN and Nox topped the scoreboard with 22 and 21 kills respectively.

Round 3

  • Grayfox 1 - 13 TyPuCTbl

One of the only two remaining Indian teams, Grayfox started their Round 3 game against TyPuCTbl on Vertigo. TyPuCTbl started with a 7-0 lead before Grayfox finally got their first round. One was all Grayfox could manage as it was a 1-13 loss for the Indian squad.

  • L.O.T Gaming 5 - 13 SEAW

L.O.T Gaming took on SEAW in the third round game and the action took place on Overpass. L.O.T started strong but SEAW bounced back to wrap up the map at 13-5 to knock out the Indian team.
