Re-wonation edges out Revenge Esports to kick off Upthrust Esports' Gaming Fest S5

Upthrust Esports' Gaming Fest Season 5 kicked off with the quarter-finals as Revenge Esports were going up against Re-wonation. The 8 team tournament had INR 75,000 prize pool on the line.

The BO3 series kicked off on Ancient as Re-wonation started with the CT-sided pistol. A flurry of rounds that went back-and-forth saw a tied half at 6-6. Revenge eventually hung on for a 13-9 win to close out Ancient and draw first blood in the series.

Overpass was the second map of the series and it was another bunch of rounds being traded which led to a tied half once again. On the defensive half though Re-wonation dropped just one round as they made sure to take the series to a third map after winning Overpass 13-7.

Vertigo was the series decider as Re-wonation started with the T sided pistol. Re-wonation were all over Revenge's defensive side as they started with a 9-3 lead. While Revenge picked up the second half pistol and following eco, it was all Re-wonation after that as they locked in Vertigo at 13-5.

The 2-1 series win for Re-wonation sees them progress onto the semi-finals of Upthrust Esports Gaming Fest Season 5. The second quarter-final of the tournament will be live tomorrow at 18:00 IST.
