True Rippers qualify to the main event

GG LEAGUE RAMADAN RIVALS - Qualifier 1 has run its course with Pakistan's st4rboys and India's True Rippers finishing in 1st and 2nd places respectively, qualifying for the main event. The main event will still pick up teams from three more qualifiers for which registrations are currently active:

  • ONYX RAVENS vs ROG Academy

ONYX RAVENS' 0scar lit up the server in what turned out to be a game to forget for ROG Academy. Dropping just a single round throughout the match, ONYX RAVENS closed out Ancient 13-1, eliminating ROG Academy in the Ro16.

  • True Rippers vs Procrastinators

True Rippers started strong, handing down a 4-8 disadvantage to Procrastinators in the first half of Vertigo. Picking up where they left off, True Rippers closed out the match 13-6, conceding just a couple of rounds in the second half and advancing to the quarter-finals.

  • Grayfox Esports vs khatru peek

After initial trades on Anubis, Grayfox Esports conceded a slim 5-7 lead to khatru peek in the first half but managed to turn things around in the second half where ghostxD's AWP sung. khatru peek managed secure only 4 rounds in the second half as Grayfox Esports closed out Anubis 13-11, eliminating khatru peek.

  • Crescent vs imposters

Crescent survived the imposters scare on Ancient. After a neck to neck 6-6 first half, imposters made Crescent toil for each and every round in the second half but however, Crescent overpowered imposters with a narrow 13-11 win, advancing to the quarter-finals. BENZENE topped the scoreboard for Crescent with 25 frags to his name.

  • 2ez Gaming vs ToxicHeads

2ez Gaming took on ToxicHeads on Mirage with Kuzur1 and bb_1 fragging out for the Indian team. 2ez Gaming picked up a healthy 8-4 lead in the first half and despite fumbling a few crucial rounds, 2ez Gaming held their ground and closed out Mirage 13-10, eliminating ToxicHeads.

  • opium5, Made in 4No and st4rboys qualified to the quarter-finals by defeating ELO DELIVERY, 8888 and team rainnn.

Round 4

  • True Rippers vs Grayfox Esports

In the Indian derby, True Rippers locked horns with Grayfox Esports in a bo3 spanning across Anubis and Vertigo. Phenomenal performances from rossi, DEEFAULTER and DiceDealer saw True Rippers shut down Grayfox with dominant 13-4 and 13-5 score lines on Anubis and Vertigo. With this 2-0 win, True Rippers eliminate Grayfox Esports in the quarter-finals and secure their semi-finals spot.

  • Made in 4No vs Crescent

Crescent's quarter-finals showing against Made in 4No never really took off. The Pakistani team kept Crescent in check throughout the match, giving them little to no leverage to work with. Crescent conceded back to back 13-4s on Anubis and Mirage, ending their run in the qualifier.

  • opium5 vs 2ez Gaming

2ez Gaming took on opium5 on Ancient, Inferno and Nuke in what turned out to be the lengthiest and tightest match of the qualifier with all three maps going to overtime. 2ez Gaming snatched Ancient 16-13 in overtime but opium5 picked up the pieces and turned the tables around in the other two maps.

Terri and SultaaN's massive 28 frags a piece, took Inferno to overtime, where opium5 edged out 2ez Gaming 16-14. bb_1 went absolutely nuclear on Nuke in a quadruple-overtime map, dropping 45 frags but unfortunately, 2ez Gaming conceded Nuke 19-22 and the series 1-2.

Round 5

  • True Rippers vs st4rboys

True Rippers took down st4rboys in the semi-finals in a 3-map series across Anubis, Ancient and Mirage. After an 8-4 half in their favor in the first map, True Rippers just traded out rounds and crossed the line with a 13-9 win on Anubis.

st4rboys bounced back on Nuke to level the series. A frag-fest across the board saw players from either teams crossing 30 frags in a triple-overtime game which st4rboys eventually closed out with a 19-16 score line. Mirage was a whole another game as True Rippers derailed the Pakistani team with a one-sided 13-5 win.

Round 6

  • Made in 4No vs True Rippers

The finals saw True Rippers take on Made in 4No where the Indian team conceded back to back 10-13s, netting Made in 4No a 2-0 win in the finals of the qualifier. 7z1 and BulleTT put up 38 frags a piece across the series for Made in 4No. True Rippers started both maps with early momentum in their favor but failed to capitalize on it.

Alongside their main event slot, Made in 4No are entitled to a cash prize of $500 USD for winning the qualifier. By finishing in second place, True Rippers have secured their main event spot and a cash prize for $250 USD for their runners-up status.
