Massive post-Major update sees Dust 2 replace Overpass in competitive pool
In a huge update, Valve moved Dust 2 back into the active competitive map pool, replacing Overpass. The update also saw various structural changes to Inferno among other visibility optimizations. Overwatch has been reintroduced but the nature and capacity of the change is not fully clear yet.
"Preferred Viewmodel Left/Right Handedness" has been added in the game settings bringing back left handed viewmodels. Viewmodel orientation can be switched on the fly and by default the command is bound to "H". A modified grenade appears after pulling the pin on nades to assist with lineups and the timing for the reticle change can be adjusted.
The auto-shotgun's (XM1014) kill reward has been reduced to $600 from $900 and the Zeus receives a buff increasing it's kill reward to $300 from $0. The buy menu has received UI and functional changes allowing players directly pick up weapons dropped in the buy area and displaying the minimum money a player can expect in the next round.
The highlight and talking point of the latest update is Dust 2 making its way back into the competitive map pool, replacing Overpass. The PGL Copenhagen 2024 Major's stickers are now on sale at 75% off. Here's Valve's release notes for the update:
