Skyesports Championship 2024 champions headed to IEM Cologne 2024

3DMAX off to Germany

The champions of the recently concluded Skyesports Championship 2024, 3DMAX are going to Germany for the IEM Cologne 2024 Play-In stage following an announcement by ESL, who stated that the French team will be replacing BetBoom.

BetBoom miss out due to visa troubles as the Russian team has been unable to obtain visas to head to Cologne, Germany. As per ESL's on the Team Replacement Rules, the French team is the next eligible team, as per the ESL Rankings.

The IEM Cologne 2024 Play-In kick off from August 7, 2024 and go on till August 9, 2024. There will be 16 teams taking part with the top 8 teams moving to the IEM Cologne 2024 Group Stages.

3DMAX and BetBoom were both in India last month for the Skyesports Championship 2024 LAN. The controversial LAN event, which got off to a shocking start with numerous issues, had seen BetBoom withdraw from the tournament on the opening day itself. The rest of the $300,000 event barring the opening day ran smoothly with 3DMAX, who made their way to the LAN in Mumbai from the European Closed Qualifier, beating The MongolZ in the Grand Final to take home $120,000 prize pool.
