"We were on a break": Crazy_Gamer on their ESEA League forfeit

DEFAULTER and Crazy_Gamer featured on "Tier 2 Talk"

True Rippers' IGL DEFAULTER and presumably their secondary caller Crazy_Gamer were featured on the latest edition of the talk show "Tier 2 Talk". Hosted by Dewg and ReTr0, the show has been running for over two years now, featuring Counter-Strike pros from across the globe.

Starting with True Rippers' bootcamp and facilities, DEFAULTER went on mention that their players spend three quarters of the year at the bootcamp due to regional difficulties when it came to scrimming with teams from other Asian countries. Crazy_Gamer added how most of the reputed Indian orgs provide bootcamps with players spending a lot of time there, citing Gods Reign and Carnival Gaming as examples.

Gods Reign were in a bad state; me and Crazy (Crazy_Gamer) had played together for 3 years. We approached him because we needed someone with his level of experience and he was ready to go with us."

Mentioning Crazy_Gamer's move to True Rippers, DEFAULTER mentioned that it took longer than expected for everyone to get on the same page but once they did, everything clicked. Speaking to r1ksa's time with the team, Crazy_Gamer told that there were a lot of differences in playstyle between him and the team, which is what pushed the org to bring in yb, given his experience with an Indian team previously.

When asked about their latest recruit, DayMake, the True Rippers duo pointed out that the Indian scene had only a handful of good AWPer and how two of them (f1redup and rev3nnnn) are playing for the same team (Gods Reign) currently. DEFAULTER shared that DayMake's profile was shortlisted to True Rippers by a scouting agency.

ESEA is very important to us. Teams like TYLOO and The MongolZ, they don't scrim with Asian teams and the only way to play against them is by competing in these leagues so ESEA is very important to us.

Further down the line, when asked about the importance of the ESEA league to Indian teams, bringing up True Rippers' withdrawal from the current season, Crazy_Gamer clarified that while the league held great importance to True Rippers, the team needed a short break after their Skyesports Championship campaign.

Speaking about Skyesports Championship 2024, DEFAULTER shared that the hospitality and hotel (accommodation) were really good, despite the tournament not getting off to the ideal start, with players sharing their discontent towards the PCs and tables.

Once we had a discussion with the Skyesports, they did their best, they swapped all the tables and came up with solutions to all the problems reported by the teams. The first day was bad but the way they pulled up was commendable and they did a great job. All in all it was a great experience for our team.

Dewg went on to commend Skyesports for their hospitality and mentioned that the org put them up in good hotels and arranged comfortable shuttles to and from the venue for the talent involved in the event.

The team at Skyesports, they seemed to like really care, genuinely. They were not happy with the issues on day 1, I mean no one wants to see that. They can hopefully use these as stepping stones to keep upping their game and teams are going to be very happy to coming back to India.
