Gods Reign dominate Forward to lock in upper bracket final spot
After taking down ONi in the opening game of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Asia RMR Closed Qualifier, Gods Reign were back in action in the upper bracket semi-final against Forward as the Indian team looked to make it to the upper bracket final.
arun kicked things off for Forward with T-sided pistol 1v2 clutch on Anubis. Gods Reign were on the board as soon as they got out the guns and early impact from Bhavi and reV3nnnn's AWP saw the Indian team take a small lead at 7-5.
Ph1NNN and Mcg1LLzZz's openers on the B site saw Gods Reign pick up a crucial second half pistol to start their T side. The Indian team ran away to an 11-5 lead before Forward got their first CT round on the board. A Tec-9 rush to the B site put Gods Reign on match point and the Indian team closed it out with one AK-47 and four Tec-9s and a f1redup 1v2 to lock in a 13-7 win.
Gods Reign will now take on BnTeT's Alter Ego in the upper bracket final tomorrow, while Forward drop to the lower bracket semi-final. Should True Rippers be able to get past their lower bracket round 1 game later today, they will face Forward tomorrow in a BO3 encounter.
