TALON eliminate Mindfreak
The consolidation final in the Oceanic RMR Closed Qualifier for the upcoming Asia-Pacific RMR leading up to the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major saw TALON take on Mindfeak in a bo3 encounter. Starting on the CT-side of Dust2, TALON derailed Mindfreak's T-side executes, sliding a big 10-2 lead in their favor.
Switching over, Mindfreak stole the anti-eco after conceding the pistol round and TALON's broken economy could have made way for Mindfreak to string up a comeback but TALON nipped it in the bud, closing out Dust2 13-3, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. The trio of AZR, ADDICT and nettik put up 17 frags a piece, with ratings in excess of 1.70.
Mindfreak started Anubis with pistol and anti-eco wins on their T-side but once the gun rounds began, TALON caught and neutralized things to end an even 6-6 half. A five round streak to start the T-side, put TALON inches away from match point, as ADDICT stepped up with a 2.19 rating T-side performance. TALON eventually took Anubis 13-8, wrapping up a 2-0 series.
With this loss, Mindfreak crash out of the Oceanic Closed Qualifier as TALON move up to the grand-final to set up their rematch against Rooster, where the winner goes straight into the Asia-Pacific RMR.
