Gods Reign vs Alter Ego: Preview
After two important wins on the opening day of the Asia RMR Closed Qualifier, Gods Reign find themselves two wins away from the Asia RMR, as Bhavi and his boys will face the experienced BnTeT and co.'s Alter Ego in the upper bracket final.
Gods Reign kicked off their campaign with a win over Philippines team ONi. While it was a shaky start from Bhavi and his boys on Ancient, they turned around a 0-4 deficit to lock in a 13-5 win with reV3nnnn's AWP finding impact on both halves. In the upper bracket semi-final, they faced Forward and it was a convincing win from the Indian team on Anubis with f1redup and Ph1NNN being the chief wreckers in a 13-7 win.
On the other side, Alter Ego, boasting of the likes of BnTeT, Freeman and XigN, started their campaign with a comfortable 13-9 on Dust2 against DEWA United. In their upper bracket semi-final against Niory, it was another Dust2 affair, this time doing one better to take a 13-8 win with aidKiT having impact in both wins.
The upper bracket final will be another BO1 match, with the winner booking a place in the Grand Final of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Asia RMR Closed Qualifier. The loser meanwhile will drop to the Consolidation Final.
While on paper, Alter Ego might have the edge, it being a BO1 encounter gives Gods Reign an advantage, especially in the MR12 era.
