ATOX send IHC home; -72c eliminates THE
The lower bracket semi-finals at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 East Asia RMR Closed Qualifier kicked off the penultimate day's action as we started the day with the four teams fighting to keep their RMR dreams alive.
The series kicked off on Ancient, IHC's pick, with a tied opening half. ATOX, though, ran away in the second half, on their T side, to pick up a 13-9 win. Inferno was another back and forth affair, which saw ATOX knock out their compatriots by securing Inferno 13-10 with yAmi on top of the scoreboard with 23 kills.

While one elimination game was the Mongolian derby, it was the Russian derby on the other side as THE faced -72c. -72c started their opponents' pick of Anubis with a big 10 round T half before THE fought back on their T side. It looked like we were heading to overtime before youka and forzetsky helped -72c get over the line at 13-10. On Dust2, it was a more comfortable win for -72c as they put up a strong defensive hold to lock in a 13-9 win to pick up the series 2-0.
Following the completion of the lower bracket semi-finals, it will be ATOX taking on -72c in the lower bracket final later on today. IHC and THE meanwhile have been sent home following their losses as their RMR hopes end in the lower bracket.
