s1mple unable to deny Falcons elimination on return
After a disappointing return to competitive Counter-Strike for s1mple, which saw Falcons go down to 3DMAX in the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 Group A opener, Falcons and s1mple were battling for their tournament lives in the Group A elimination game and ironically, it was s1mple's long-time old teammate electroNic on the opposite as as Virtus.pro's shock loss to OG dropped them to the elimination game as well.
The series kicked off on Mirage where a four-round CT side hurt the Falcons in the end as a decent showing on the T side wasn't enough as a late surge from jame and co. saw them take their pick at 13-9 with s1mple leading the scoresheets for Falcons once again, with 18 kills.
Moving to Anubis, it was a back and forth start with in quintessential s1mple fashion, the Ukrainian star single-handedly helped the Falcons take the lead on their CT side thanks to a couple of crucial multi-kill rounds with the Big Green. Virtus.pro picked up a much needed pistol and a uninspiring T side from Snappi's boys saw VP end the map with a near-flawless CT half, going 13-8 to close out the series 2-0.
The loss also ends Falcons' run at the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, with s1mple and Falcons being eliminated on the opening day itself and leaving the event without a single map win, although s1mple himself showed promise and signs of his old self.
