Official: NiKo joins Falcons
Saudi Arabian organisation Falcons have confirmed the signing of Counter-Strike great NiKo, who will join the team for the 2025 season.
NiKo's move to Falcons was much anticipated and the star Bosnian rifler was set to move to Falcons back in 2023 but he stayed on with G2 in a late change of plans. Reports confirmed his move to the Falcons once again in 2024 as he was set to depart G2 after four years with the team, where he won IEM Cologne 2023, IEM Katowice 2023, BLAST World Final and IEM Dallas 2024. Regarded as one of Counter-Strike's greatest riflers, if not the greatest, NiKo eight appearances in HLTV's Top 20 Players of the Year list having finished at #2 twice in 2017 and 2023 and twice at #3 in 2018 and 2021.
The Falcons have tried to build a super team, bringing in the decorated duo of Magisk and zonic from Vitality and even had Snappi, SunPayus, Maden and dupreeh in their lineup although the results did not show. The Falcons brought in Counter-Strike legend s1mple on loan in October 2024, in a desperate bid to make the Shanghai Major 2024 but the team failed to get out of the RMRs. Following continuous failures, zonic and the management have decided to start fresh, keeping only Magisk from their previous lineup. Snappi was released earlier today while SunPayus, dupreeh and Maden remain benched. s1mple decided not to continue with the organisation post the Shanghai Major RMR fiasco.
G2 revealed earlier today that NiKo had left the team and Falcons is reported to sign the HEROIC trio of kyxsan, degster and TeSeS to round out their roster. The Falcons wanted to sign NiKo's G2 teammate m0NESY as well but that deal fell through with the Russian AWPer sticking on with G2.
With NiKo joining Falcons, the Falcons team currently is:
-
Magisk
-
NiKo
-
zonic (Coach)
